i am a beginner TO YOGA can i join a SHYAKTIVE class?

Of course! In fact, a lot of our students find yoga for the first time through our offerings. Our classes cue variations for all the yoga poses so they are attainable for all students, including those who have never previously practiced yoga. We advise investing in a yoga mat, 2 x yoga blocks, strap, 2 x bolsters and 2 x yoga blankets to assist both your practice at class and at home.

How often should I practice SHYAKTIVE yoga?

Ideally, everyday! There is no downside to fertility or pre/postnatal yoga. In fact, we encourage it as the main form of exercise during these life transitions.

do i have to be spiritual to practice yoga?

No. Yoga is not a religion. Although some religions practice yoga, yoga in itself is a philosophy. It’s a way of looking at life from different perspectives. Yoga is at times a spiritual practice, but you do not have to be spiritual to practice yoga. The practice of yoga for fertility as well as for pregnancy is an ideal form of exercise and support through your journey, even if you’re not spiritual.

i suffer anxiety and depression can yoga help WITH thESE SYMPTOMS?

Yoga specifically targets the symptoms of anxiety and depression by releasing tension in the body and utilizing the breath. Experts in neuroscience believe that yoga and pranayama (breath work) as well as meditation may in fact be so good for the brain that it can effectively alter the brain waves, strengthening the neural networks that promote positivity and build resilience to stress, including the symptoms of anxiety and depression.

I have an injury can I practice SHYAKTIVE yoga?

Yes, we have an intake form so I’m aware of your medical history and any injuries etc. I will always adapt a practice to ensure the practice is well-suited to your needs.
